Rules Please be sure to read these over before joining and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to any staff member. GENERAL - Keeping within the Proboards ToS, we are a PG-13 site. To be even more specific, we are trying to keep within a 2-1-2 rating. So, if a thread is beginning to become overly graphic or explicit, we would greatly appreciate it if you would fade to black.
- Please be respectful of each other. People don’t always get along, we get it, but if multiple staff members determine that you are either purposely or accidentally creating a hostile environment, we will take appropriate action.
- Please don’t spam our discord or any boards.
- Misconduct in our discord server will not be ignored and may result in loss of privileges or removal from the RP.
- Dragon Age: Inquisition is rated M for Mature by the ESRB, so we ask that you be at least 16 years old to RP here.
REGISTRATION - Please register an OOC account that can act as a "parent" account for your characters.
- Please register your characters separately from each other.
- When you create a character’s account, please register it as firstnamelastname for easier tagging. After registering you can edit it to include a space and proper capitalization.
- Do not create an account using a canon character's name without authorization from a staff member. Unauthorized accounts will be deleted and your ability to play a canon character will be revoked.
CHARACTER CREATION - You may create more than one character, but if you choose to play a canon character you are limited to two until you can prove that you're able to handle the canon character well.
- Make sure that your character is a race and class that are found in Dragon Age. We will not accept characters that do not follow the lore of the series.
- Do not create a blood mage unless you have received admin permission. This is stated in the lore for mages and on the application for extra emphasis.
- When creating a character, make sure they fit within a faction. Your character may be factionless if discussed with a staff member or if they are a civilian character.
- Be mindful of the timeline when creating your character, there is an extensive on-site timeline that can be used for reference.
- You may use both animated and real face claims, so long as they fit in the context of Dragon Age. You may also use the DAI Character Creator to create your character. Please refrain from using face claims in clothing or armor that would not exist within the setting (ex: Mass Effect armor). Refrain from using anatomically incorrect characters and do not use any characters that could be considered NSFW.
CANON CHARACTERS - Protagonist canon characters and characters in positions of power are strictly off-limits and may only be played by staff members. More information about this can be found on our canon characters page.
- You can play two canon characters at a time, exceptions can be made if you demonstrate you can handle more than two.
- In order to play a canon character you must demonstrate knowledge of the character's history and personality, displayed through the application in an rp sample.
- Canon characters can be revoked as well as your ability to play these characters should you not stay true to the character's morals and characterization. This includes changing a canon character's gender or sexuality (i.e. making Dorian or Sera straight, making Krem cis).
- Canon characters will be expected to adhere to our site's canon tapestry (changes can be discussed with staff). This includes any romances outlined in the tapestry as chosen by our staff members playing the protagonists.
POSTING - We have a word count of 200 words, although you are highly encouraged to post more. We also encourage matching your posting partner(s) if possible.
- All posts should be done in third person to make reading easier.
- Don’t metagame, power play, or god mod. All characters have limits and are not going to be OP.
ACTIVITY - We have bimonthly activity checks that you must participate in if you wish to remain active!
- The activity check will be up for two weeks.
- In order to pass the activity check, you must provide links to four posts for each character you wish to keep. Basically, this will mean that you’re averaging at least one post per week for each character and that’s good enough for us.
- These posts must come from the two months after the last activity check or they will not count.
- If you can not fulfill the requirements for the activity check for any reason besides being recently accepted, please contact a staff member via pm.
